I take pleasure in applying to your company for the post of Management Trainee – Human Resources in response to your advertisement dated 3rd January 2009 in the Times of India.
I am an MBA-I student of Omegan School of Business, Pune specializing in Human Resource Management with a keen desire to understand and appreciate the HR practices followed at Tata Motors.
In the course of my study, I have read the success stories of Tata Motors in the Book ‘Talent Management’ published by ICFAI publications and have come to realize the importance of nurturing and developing human talent that directly contributes to organizational excellence.
In this regard, I would consider it a great privilege to begin my debut with an organization such as yours by contributing my knowledge and abilities in the projects that you have earmarked for management students with an open mind to learn and develop.

Statement of Purpose
2. Letter of Introduction
The purpose of writing this letter is to introduce myself as a budding HR professional from Omegan School of Business, Pune who will be completing Semester II of the MBA curriculum in March 09 and would then be ready for the Student Internship Program slated during the months April – June 09.
This is a period when students can get an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills through an on-the-job training in various organizations. I consider the on-the-job training an integral part of the MBA curriculum for it exposes us to real time scenarios and we can be chiseled to become business professionals provided we are willing to stretch and learn from our mentors.
Sir, with this background, I would like to place before you my candidature as a Management Trainee in the Human Resources function and am eager to learn more about the assignment you have in hand.
I look forward to a personal meeting with you to discuss the above.
Thanking you, I remain
