The Internet's popularity has dramatically escalated over the past one decade and has become an integral part of daily life. Within the next few years the potential and capabilities of the Internet are endless. With that in mind the following research will examine a continuously flourishing component of the Internet, Internet shopping Now the days are gone when shopping was only done at brick and mortar stores. Internet has emerged out as the new source of shopping. According to the British survey of Consultancy Foundation Online shopping is the second best innovation of the Decade. Online shopping is the process whereby consumers directly buy goods or services from a seller in real-time, without an intermediary service, over the Internet. If an intermediary service is present the process is called electronic commerce or E-commerce. Growth in the E-Commerce has resulted from the growth in the penetration of computers and internet technology in various parts of the world. Internet as a platform offers various opportunities to its users. A user can use internet to search for new products and services, compare the prices and features at the same time. It saves money, energy, time and resources. To customers it not only provides high level of convenience but also broader selection, competitive pricing and greater access to information relative to purchase made in malls or stores. Now a days, Many websites allow small businesses to create and maintain an online shopping malls, without the complexity that involved in purchasing and developing an expensive stand alone ecommerce software solutions.
Earlier there was only tele-shopping, which deals in limited range of products such as Astrology and spirituality products (such as Rudraksha Mala, etc), Health and fitness equipments, (Sauna Belt etc) and even some of the Cooking ranges. After the tele-shopping, the mall culture was introduced, where all the products are available under a single roof and at competitive price points. Down the line is the concept of virtual mall or online shopping which is already existent at its preliminary stage in India and is gradually growing exponentially. The market opened up with innovative online shopping initiatives from eBay, Amazon, Rediff shopping and futurebazaar.com

Online shopping offers to customer’s unique opportunity that never previously existed with traditional store purchases and that is why this area of study is of interest to me. Research in this area will let me know the mindset of customers and their attitude toward this Internet shopping. I am interested in discovering Customer choice involved in online shopping.
