HUMAN RESOURCES PLANNING AND EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

Introduction

Strategic planning is a completely valid and useful tool for guiding healthcare organizations. It is important for the Human Resources Department to plan because this ensures the best fit for employees and jobs while avoiding manpower shortages or surpluses. This plan needs to be flexible enough to meet short term and long challenges, while adapting to changing conditions in the business and environment. Planning in the Human Resources department is a continuous process. The process of strategic planning is programmable, systematic, rational, and holistic and integrates the short, medium and long term, allowing the healthcare organization to focus on relevant and lasting transformations for the future. In this paper, I will explain the importance of maintaining accurate and objective employee records, determine the most significant factor that will ensure an effective legal termination, analyze two major challenges that today’s health care leaders face in trying to uphold the ethics of critique, justice, and caring, indicating how managers can balance the need for ethics with employee and organizational needs, create a detailed outline of an effective succession planning process that will help ensure a smooth transition as members of the management team at your organization begin to retire, from both a management and employee perspective, justify or dispute unionization and suggest the best way in which HR can continue to be an effective strategic partner in helping this organization achieve its future goals.

Explain the importance of maintaining accurate and objective employee records, indicating the consequences that may result from lack of record keeping. Provide support for your rationale. The Human Resources Department has an important role concerning employee personnel files. (Fallon & McConnell, 2012) Employee documentation is important because if there is no documentation, that means it was not done. Maintaining accurate and complete documentation supports human resources objectives, such as succession planning and promoting from within. Employee documentation, when prepared carefully, confidentially and according to company policies, is the backbone of a human resources department. Documenting employee performance is important for maintaining job satisfaction, productivity and engagement. The performance management system includes a number of components, such as job descriptions, informal feedback, training, disciplinary action and annual performance evaluations. All of these components require documentation for your performance management system to stay on track. Lack of documentation is close to lack of communication in this area. When an employee's tenure with the company comes to an end, documentation is extremely important. Regardless of the reason, you must prepare and file paperwork that documents this employment action.
