Introduction
Human resource management is a field that is concerned with issues that relate to employees. The employees are the main resource for the company as they determine the success or failure of the company. The needs and expectations of these employees should be taken with a lot of concerns in the long run. Human resource management is a process of managing people in the best way so that they can contribute towards attaining the goals of the company. This is meant to manage people in the best way possible and also award them well with an aim of motivating them to be more productive. Task 1

P1: Distinguish between personnel management and human resource management. Provide appropriate examples from you chosen organization to support your answer. Personnel management is a specialist function of management that is not directly with the business strategy since it is a collection of people-related activities. These activities are very essential towards the growth and development of the required means. This is very crucial since it determines how these activities will be conducted. It usually deals with setting general and specific management policy that is concerned with employment relationship. It also deals with bargaining and industrial relations (Newton 1997). The role of staffing and organization of employees is conducted through personnel management. On the other hand, human resource management refers to a strategic and coherent approach to the management of an organization’s most valued assets who are the people. The people who work in a company work individually or collectively with an aim of attaining the goals in the company. Human resource management is a process of managing people in the best way so that they can contribute towards attaining the goals of the company. This is meant to manage people in the best way possible and also award them well with an aim of motivating them to be more productive. P2: Assess the functions of the human resource management that contribute to organization’s purpose and success Human resource management has various functions which are meant to increase the efficiency of the employees (John 2008). The main function is the top management who are concerned with setting various goals and objectives of the company. These goals are meant to increase the productivity of the company. The top managers come up with various goals that every individual must attain. The other function is the strategic fit which ensures that the right people are allocated to the job where they are fully qualified and experienced at. This is very fundamental as it reduces errors while performing various tasks. The other function is the reward systems. These systems are very essential as they determine the productivity of the employees in future. Thus, the management must come up with an equitable system that will ensure the employees are motivated. This is very important since they will have their productivity increased. The final function is the employee behaviour and relations. This factor must be taken into account since every individual must relate with each other. This is very important at increasing the accuracy of each individual. The employees should relate well with each other so as to increase the overall productivity. P3: Evaluate the role and responsibilities of line managers in relations to human resource management functions The role of line managers in line with human resource management depends with many factors is very crucial towards the success of the company (Melicher 1982). The line managers perform many duties that are meant to increase the cooperation between employees and the top leaders.
