Background of the Study
Bee Souvenirs, Invitations and Tarpaulins is a sole proprietorship under the management of Ms. Emelita P. Buan. The business is at its 4th year in the industry. The very first branch of Bee souvenirs and Invitation way back 2009 is at Cluster Building, Tutuban Center Mall. But due to fortuitous event which is fire they need to transfer at 168 shopping Mall. The business is running into a day to day operation. They cater all types of customers with different needs. The products of the business were personalized Souvenirs and Invitations for different kinds of occasions like weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, baptism and etc. They are open for bulk orders in souvenirs and invitations yet accepting retail orders for other wedding accessories.
Bee Invitations, Souvenirs and Tarpaulin had been sticking to their Manual System for a long time. Customer information is written on a piece of paper and will be pinned near their log book where their log book serves as their database.
* Common errors: when entering data customers might have accidentally switched details and data since it is hand written. * Repetition of work: if there are any changes to be made, the data will have to be entered again. * Too much paper work: since everything and every detail are written down manually in paper there will be too much paper work. * Data duplication: the same data gets repeated over and over since the workers find it hard to keep track of the documents, information and transactions * Inconsistency of data: there will be unavailability for future use, since data might get misplaced during manual filing. So the data won’t be preserved properly for future use.
