Executive Summary

Human resource have becomes strategic resource to gain sustainable competitive advantages in this age of globalization.

Nepalese organizations need to manage their human resource effectively to achieve goals. This term paper seeks to present new developments, HRM Polices and strategies, HR planning, recruitment, selection and placement, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation and benefits, job design and employee relation and communication.

The size of organization is one of the determining factors to have or not to have a HR department in Nepalese organization, having some kind of personnel department to look after personnel functions.

The changing scenario of HR department in Nepal can be analyzed by dividing Private, Government, & joint sector Organization.

HR department in Nepal is mainly concerned with utilization human energies. It was least concerned with developing human competencies and potential for growth of employees. HR department is given a strategic role to organizational development.

HR department play active and pioneer role in formulating mission, vision, to achieve objective beside hiring & firing of employees.
